I hope you're going to join us for one of these. We'll meet from 9-11AM (Eastern Time) two Tuesdays a month, and, at least for the first few months, we'll be looking at the Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134). The Listening Post is always free and you can show up whenever you yourself are free, so I hope you will. Click that button right there if you want to get the link to join us in the morning and/or get on the reminder list so you can get a calendar invite every month.
Or you could just respond to this email and ask. And tell me which of the above four things is the most exciting to you. Farewells and HellosPaul and I said farewell to Central Baptist Church on August 10th, and they gave us a great picnic send-off. Here's the final service (which does not include the picnic), if you're curious how that went. (Speaking of videos, the Pilgrimage now has its own YouTube channel, to which I invite you to subscribe. So far it only has two subscribers and two videos in it--the Central Baptist church service I just told you about, and the audibly-improved info/promo video I sent you the first version of last time. I invite you to re-view it in its improved state, and also to pass it along, especially to friends you think might benefit from the Pilgrimage and/or people and organizations who might be willing to partner financially with this newly expanded ministry.) As for hellos, well, my DMin program starts on Wednesday, and there's a brief meeting about that right before the next cohort of Stepping Into the Story begins. I spent the last two weeks on vacation which included some relaxing, some garden/food-preservation projects, some kayaking (see Paul's Facebook page for the eagle we saw!), and listening to a boatload of assigned podcast episodes by my new professor for the semester, Dr John Dickson. (I really enjoy the podcast, but it was a lot, back to back!) I'm already having ideas about how even this first class is going to help deepen the work that we're doing here on Pilgrimage. Maybe next time I'll have a little more to tell you about that. In the meantime, next month I'm back to being available for spiritual direction sessions. You can book one below. If this is your first session, message me before booking so I can give you a different link for a free consult.
Nonprofit UpdateNow that I am no longer at Central Baptist, household income is significantly less, so I will be spending much of my Pilgrimage work time this fall more fully developing the Pilgrimage Outfitters team. Please prepare yourself (ideally with prayer) for a lot more discussion of what that will look like and how you might be able to join in. (There's going to be more than one way!) Meanwhile, while I took my two weeks off, my nonprofit coach and her assistant have been working hard inputting the date I wrote for the nonprofit application. Please pray that everything goes smoothly and that The Pilgrimage turns into nothing more or less than what God intends. Thanks for being here and following along. Please let me know in the meantime if you have any questions or suggestions about this ministry, and thanks for praying for us! Travel well, Jenn 🐪 |

If Only They Could All Go Like This Ever since our friend Rebecca and her parents took us to a New Hampshire restaurant run by a British couple who made the most quintessential fish 'n' chips on the planet, Paul and I have a running joke about platonic ideals. This week the platonic ideal of a Pilgrimage sign-up happened, as follows: I posted something on a social medium. (I don't know which one. I don't even know what I posted.) One of my online acquaintances saw said post, noticed that it...
Something New! Nothing new with the programming, but as I try to more appropriately organize the work of the Pilgrimage in 2025 (our 10th anniversary year!) I will be sending out periodic (probably monthly) short-form updates with scheduling options for you. Normally they won't have quite the following level of information. If you would prefer not to get these updates but would still like to receive the every-other-month newsletter, please make sure you manage your subscription via the...
It's time to try something different...and so behold: the Layte annual Christmas letter in digital form! Thanks for reading our news. Thanks for sending us yours. Home and Family In March, Paul and I took the dogs to chilly Portland, Maine, to celebrate our 12th anniversary weekend. I got to introduce Paul to Popham Beach, where my mom's side of the family used to vacation when I was a kid. We're grateful for--and continuing to enjoy!--our life together and are looking forward to the next...
